# Make a banner or social cover

> Banners and social images at the exact pixels each platform asks for, from a 680x240 profile banner to 2560x1440 channel art.

Every platform wants a different artboard, and a banner exported at the wrong
size gets cropped in a way you did not choose. The cover tool holds
**16 real sizes** across General, Discord, Instagram, X,
Facebook and YouTube, from a **680x240** profile banner to **2560x1440** channel
art, and exports at the true artboard rather than an upscaled preview.

## How to make one

1. Open the **Covers** tab.
2. Pick the target size from the Format list.
3. Pick one of 8 gradient templates, or set your own fill.
4. Add a title, subtitle, body text and an optional tag chip.
5. Choose one of 6 background patterns - none, blobs, rings,
   grid, dots or stripes.
6. **Drag anything on the artboard** to reposition it. Parts snap to the centre
   lines, and the offset is stored in artboard units so it means the same thing
   at every size.
7. Export to PNG at full artboard size, or to SVG.

Text sizes are derived from the artboard's short edge rather than fixed, so a
profile banner and a channel banner get type of the same visual weight instead
of looking like two different designs.
